Hi,
Last weekend I bought my 1st Chambers-a model 60C that is the pastel yellow color.
I can't wait to start using it, but I wanted to do a little cleaning first. Can any of you could recommend a cleaner for the chrome on the stovetop? My first instinct was to use Easy Off because there are a few grease spots, but I'm afraid that would hurt the chrome finish. It's a little dull, and I don't want to make it worse.
Thanks much and I hope you all have a nice holiday weekend!

Thanks Dave!
I'll give the 409 and clear class cleaner a try.
There are so many cleaners on the market that it's sometimes hard to know which one to pick.
I've burned myself in the past with using too harsh a cleaner on something, and I don't wish to repeat that with this stove.
Thanks again and have a great weekend!

Well, when I cleaned up mine I used 409, let it soak and wiped it off.
For daily cleanup, I just use a quick spray with a clear (not blue) window cleaner and wipe with a paper towel. Keeps it sparkling clean!

hey there,
agree with above, keep the oven cleaner in the oven!
brasso metal polish works great on the cooktop. get the grease and loose dirt off first and have plenty of clean rags. DONT use brasso on the griddle! have fun!

Hi, I have used Easy-Off on all parts of the stove. It will not harm anything but the Aluminium. Do Not use it on the Griddle or Broiler Pan. It will damage it's appearance something terrible!
Regards, Sam
And check out the Chambers Literature here:

I used Simple Green on everything first (second, and third) time. Then switched to Easy Off for a few things that were really greasy - the oven and burner drip pans. Keep on scrubbin'!

Wow!
Thanks for all the great advice everyone! I've got some Brasso and Simple Green boxed up somewhere. I got most of the grease spots off using 409, so I'll dig up and try the Simple green to remove what's left and the Brasso to polish the stovetop.
Hope you all had a good holiday weekend and thanks again.

Regarding Easy Off: Mr. White is correct, use it on all but aluminum. It is great for taking off the dark brown and black grease marks that show up on the chrome surface. Use the low odor version, and let it sit overnight or as long as possible. Cover with foil if possible.
Occasionally, when the drip pans just get to be too scuzzy, I take them out and bring them to the basement sink. I scrape out the loose stuff, then douse each heavily with EO. Then I stack them in the sink, put a bucket over them, and they are easily cleanable the next day.
